Brighton College Dubai is celebrating exceptional mathematics GCSE results this week, with four Year 10 pupils and one Year 8 pupil achieving Grade 9 (A*) after sitting the examinations early in January. Despite taking the examination 1.5 and 3.5 years ahead of most children, these gifted youngsters achieved the highest possible grade. Year 8 pupil Ibrahim has received his Grade 9 Maths GCSE certificate at just 12 years old; truly a testament to his determined efforts and to the excellent teaching standards for which the school is renowned.
Upon receiving his grade, Ibrahim said: “It feels amazing. I’m lost for words. It feels like it’s a real culmination of my hard work, my family’s support and my teachers, who have all helped me get to this point.”
Simon Crane, Head Master of Brighton College Dubai, said: “I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our young GCSE pupils, who have exceeded their targets. My warmest congratulations to our excellent pupils and staff!” The success of pupils at Brighton College is not only down to academics – Mr Crane emphasised the holistic educational programme in place, saying: “As well as being academically dedicated, our pupils have been involved in all other aspects of school life, including taking on wellbeing initiatives, sports and leadership positions.”
Jane Clewlow, Deputy Head Academic, Brighton College Dubai said: “I am delighted with the performance of our recent GCSE pupils. Their brilliant achievements show the power of excellent teaching combined with high levels of academic and pastoral support. The College is immensely proud of them.”
